Left-Right Gift Exchange

Read a story and pass gifts whenever you hear a highlighted cue. The screen shows which way to pass and saves your place.

Who’s Sitting Next to You?

Sit facing the center of the circle. Keep the same seating order throughout the game. Add details to distinguish people with the same name.

Each story has 15 passes. Follow only the highlighted cues.

The game is saved in this browser. You can’t restore it on another device or after clearing browser data.

Rules for This Mode

  1. Choose a story and seat participants in a circle.
  2. Read one passage at a time. Then say the highlighted cue out loud: “PASS LEFT” or “PASS RIGHT.”
  3. Everyone passes one gift to a neighbor at the same time. Other mentions of left or right in the story aren’t cues.
  4. When everyone has passed a gift, tap “Passed” and continue reading.
  5. After 15 passes, open the gifts. If everyone follows the cues, no one will end up with the gift they started with in these three stories.

If You Need to Pause or Undo a Move

After refreshing the page, choose “Continue.” The screen will show the last saved step. Don’t repeat a pass you’ve already confirmed.

You can undo the last confirmed pass. The screen will show who should return the gifts; then read the same passage again. Undoing an opening won’t make the gift a secret again.

If you open the game in another tab, you must explicitly take control to continue. The first tab will stop saving moves.

Replace the Saved Game?

Your previous game will remain available until the new one is saved. Once replaced, you can’t return to it from this browser.
