How to run a Secret Santa draw and share the results

  1. Add participants. Enter 3–9 names. No accounts, email addresses, or phone numbers needed.
  2. Set the details. Add a budget and exchange date if you’ve agreed on them. If needed, exclude people who shouldn’t draw each other.
  3. Draw names. Everyone gives a gift to one person and receives one from someone else. No one draws themselves, and an odd number of participants works too.

How participants find out who they’re shopping for

Share one link in the group chat so everyone can choose their own name, or send personal links one by one. If everyone is together, pass the phone around so each person can choose their name and view the result. The recipient’s name hides after 5 seconds. For an in-person exchange, print the foldable cards and hand them out without envelopes.

A shared link lets anyone choose another person’s name, and the organizer can access every result. Agree not to peek. Save the links or exchange file so you can return to the results.

When Quick Draw is a good fit

For friends, family, or a small team that needs to assign recipients and share each person’s result. Play from different cities or exchange gifts at a gathering. Participants will see the date and budget with their result if you add them.

Quick Draw doesn’t collect wish lists or track deliveries. Discuss gift preferences and handoffs in your group chat.

Before you start

What if there are more than nine participants?

Quick Draw supports groups of up to 9. If your group is larger, choose an option that fits:

Simply assign who gives to whom—for free. Paste all names into the free name-list draw. The system assigns recipients, and you share each person’s result.

Manage the whole exchange in one place. Create an exchange after signing up: each participant’s recipient is saved, everyone can add a wish list, and you can track gifts sent and received. For 10 or more participants, see see the plans.

How much does Quick Draw cost?

Quick Draw is free for groups of 3–9. If you have more people, choose the free name-list draw or create an exchange with an account, wish lists, and organizer tools. Full exchanges for 10 or more participants are available on paid plans.

Can I exclude spouses or coworkers?

Yes. Before the draw, choose two people who shouldn’t draw each other. The exclusion works both ways. If assignments aren’t possible with those exclusions, we’ll ask you to change them.

Do participants need to sign up?

No. The draw only needs names. With a shared link, each participant chooses their name to see the result. You can also send everyone a personal link. No email or phone number is needed.

Can the organizer see who gives to whom?

Results aren’t revealed automatically: the organizer sees participants’ names and personal links. Since they have every link, they can open any result if they choose. Agree not to peek.

Can I add someone after names have been drawn?

Create a new exchange with the full participant list and let everyone know names will be drawn again. Someone may have already bought a gift. Old links will still show the previous results, so send the new links and ask everyone to delete the old ones.

What if we have an odd number of people?

That’s fine. Participants don’t form reciprocal pairs: each person gives to one person and receives a gift from someone else. The minimum is three participants.

What if I lose the link?

The organizer can copy it from the list in the open tab or from the downloaded file. If neither the tab nor the links were saved, this draw can’t be restored.

Copy it manually

Automatic copying isn’t available. Select and copy the text in the field.

Is this really you?

After you confirm, you can’t change your name in this browser. If you open someone else’s result, you’ll spoil their secret, and the organizer may need to draw names again for everyone.

You can view your result again later. If you made a mistake, tell the organizer.

Restore this exchange?

This backup will replace the exchange in this tab. If another exchange is open here, save its backup first. Shared links will keep working.

Draw names?

We’ll assign recipients based on your exclusions. After that, participants and settings can only be changed by starting a new exchange.

You’ll see this participant’s recipient. To keep the surprise, send them their personal link instead.
